After Purchasing Your iPod, Consider Picking up a Variety of iPod Accessories to Enhance Your Listening Experience

Deciding on which iPod to buy is hard enough. There are two different forms of the standard iPod, an iPod Shuffle and the newly released iPod Nano. Each have their pros and cons and they each cost a vastly different amount of money. While it may seem a daunting task to walk into your nearest Apple Store and figure out which product is best for you, this is only the tip of the iceberg. Capitalizing on the success of the iPod, companies from around the world have released a multitude of iPod accessories to help you supercharge your listening experience. Between carrying cases to speaker sets to car adapters, the possibilities of iPod accessories are endless.

If you can only purchase one product for your iPod, consider the docking station. As the most popular of the iPod accessories, the docking station is released by Apple and included with certain higher end iPods. This dock allows you to plug your digital media player into the computer through a standup device which connects to your USB port. When connected to the dock, your iPod can also charge its battery via the electrical flow through the USB interface. Furthermore, when the iPod is nestled firmly in the dock you have a very fast upload rate between your computer and your music player, meaning you do not have to wait around very long to get your favorite music files onto the iPod.

Popular iPod accessories also include a huge variety of home speaker systems. Famous audio companies like Bose, JBL and Altec Lansing have all made stereo systems designed specifically to interface with the iPod. All you do is plug the digital media player into the system much as you would plug it into the dock. These accessories generally include a variety of other features, such as a remote so you can listen to your music without having to walk up to the iPod to switch songs.

Finally, we come to the most expensive of all accessories - the modern car. Since the iPod became so popular, car manufactures all over the world have decided to add iPod integration into their products. BMW was the first by allowing the iPod to be connected via a cable located in the glove compartment.
